Our take on travel insurance for the Chase Chase United Club Infinite

Expert review · Pauline LauroreAuthor of HelloSafe's card insurance reviews

The United Club Infinite is one of the strongest travel insurance packages available on a US credit card. Trip cancellation reimburses up to $10,000 per covered traveler when illness, weather, or another covered reason forces a cancellation. Trip delay kicks in after 12 hours with up to $500 per traveler for meals and lodging. Emergency evacuation covers transport to the nearest hospital and repatriation up to $1,000,000 when you are more than 100 miles from home on a trip of 5 to 60 days. The evacuation benefit must be coordinated through the card's service provider in advance. Baggage delay pays $100 per day for up to 3 days after a 6-hour wait. Lost luggage reimburses up to $3,000 per traveler. Travel Accident Insurance pays up to $500,000 on common carrier travel and $100,000 on 24-hour travel accidents. The main gaps are hospital fees abroad, which this card does not cover, and missed connections.

  • Yes. The card reimburses non-refundable prepaid travel expenses up to $10,000 per covered traveler, $20,000 per trip, and $40,000 per 12-month period. Covered reasons include illness, severe weather, death of a family member, quarantine, military orders, and jury duty. Pre-existing conditions are excluded if they arose in the 60 days before booking.
  • The CDW is primary worldwide: the card pays before your personal auto insurance in the US and everywhere else. The only exception is New York residents who carry personal automobile insurance, for whom coverage is secondary inside the United States. You must decline the rental company's own CDW to activate coverage.
  • Yes. Emergency Evacuation and Transportation covers up to $1,000,000 in transport costs when you become seriously ill or injured more than 100 miles from home on a trip of 5 to 60 days. • No. Emergency Evacuation covers the cost of transporting you to the nearest hospital or back to your home country, but does not pay hospital bills or medical treatment costs. Travel & Emergency Assistance provides 24/7 referrals to local doctors and hospitals, but all medical costs remain the cardholder's responsibility.
  • The main exclusions are: hospital fees abroad (only transport covered), missed connections, hotel theft, and personal liability. Trip cancellation excludes pre-existing conditions, change of plans, pandemic or epidemic cancellations, and trips over 60 days. Emergency evacuation requires pre-authorization from the service provider.
  • Yes. The card includes roadside assistance in the US and Canada, covering up to $50 per service event for a maximum of 4 events per year. Services include towing, tire change, battery jump-start, lockout (no key replacement), fuel delivery of up to 2 gallons, and winching. Charges above $50 are billed to the cardholder.
